In spring I organized a tailor-made master class for Elisa, who attended my intensive floral workshop some years ago. After receiving her email, we talked about her goals for this master class. Her main objective was to find new creativity and inspiration.
The key elements of the workshop were:
-the making of a hand-gathered garden style spring bouquet
-a natural elegant floral arrangement in a bowl
-theory focused on where and how to find inspiration and then putting it into practice.
The first golden rule for each creative process is the choice of palette. Starting with colours and shades allows us to give plenty attention to the selection of the flowers and greenery.
To achieve the desired style, it’s very important to choose the different textures, shapes and movements of each ingredient carefully. There should be no random choices, only flowers that work together beautifully.
Details are important. Inspiration can be found everywhere, from the highest cathedral ceiling to the delicate pink of the tiniest petal; it’s observing these details and bringing them together within your design, that will make the difference to your creation.
In a nutshell:
-take note of each ingredient
-approach each season with curiosity
-balance shades and tones
-be inspired by your senses, translate what you see, hear, smell into your creation
It was a very enriching day for both of us, full of ideas, exchanges and lightness!
