Starting with Lara and Giovanni’s lovely note: ‘Thank you for your message and for the great job you did with the flowers for our wedding. My bouquet was absolutely perfect. You clearly understood the vibe of our big day’. This nice young Italian family celebrated their summer wedding in an enchanting Roman church overlooking stunning Lake Garda. The reception was held in a rustic location amongst vineyards in the region of Valpolicella famous for the ‘Amarone’ wine.
Lara had a very clear vision about the style and colours she would like to have for the floral decorations.
For the church, she wanted a very timeless green and white palette, with soft hydrangeas playing the main role in all the compositions.
For the reception, she envisioned a more romantic and natural pastel palette with: pale blue, delicate peach pink, lilac and a touch of yellow. The style for the tables’ floral decorations was a natural garden-like vibe. So I chose delicate chamomile, rustic love-in-a-mist, velvety carnation, elegant eustoma and light clematis. Each table was decorated with a mix of these flowers in crystal bud vases, pink and light blue candles and flickering tea-lights.
Lara chose a ballerina style bridal gown with a lace body and a tulle skirt. Her long hair was gathered in a tight severe bun with a long romantic veil, creating a fairytale vibe. When we met she told me that the must have flower was the white scabious. So I made the bouquet around this flower in a very natural way, as though she had gone into the garden and picked them herself.
Before the party was over Lara changed her outfit and look, she cut her hair in a short bob and wore a delightful thirties style flapper dress!
So for the cake she had a new bold look! She was radiant and beautiful!
It was a long exciting day, with dancing until late night!
