In October I was lucky enough to visit iconic New York and its incredible vibe amazed me in a thousand ways!

What struck me the most was the way building sites sat amongst towering steel and glass skyscrapers. New York is an ever-evolving city where ultramodern buildings stand proudly next to historical ones.

Wherever I glanced I was mesmerized by numerous shades of grey, hues of brown and gleaming glass.

I stayed at the Civilian Hotel which was the perfect choice to enjoy Manhattan. What did I like best? Each day was filled with new discoveries.

First on my bucket list was the wonderful Empire State Building and its amazing view. Next stop I strolled along the High Line, an incredible century old railway track, which has been transformed into a pathway overlooking Chelsea. Not forgetting Soho, with its cast iron historic district now housing cool art galleries, hip fashion shops and design stores.

The Lincoln Centre had a great vibe with its elegant theatres and the famous Julliard dance school.

And I loved the richness of the Met and the Moma and the iconic Guggenheim Museum.

I looked in awe at Ground Zero,the place where the Twin towers once stood. I was touched by the silence interrupted only by the flowing water into immense black marble pools.

A must was of course Tiffany’s on Fifth Avenue, a very refined and sumptuous place with masterpieces, and marvellous floral arrangements. Later I stopped by at Prada whose shop was designed by Rem Koolhass and at Macy’s which is said to be the biggest store in the world. I found every single shop interesting for the design, colours and how the products were showcased.

If you ever go don’t miss a classical concert and the Carnegie hall and a New York city Ballet at the David H. Koch Theater.
