5 Summer Flowers for an Amazing Bridal Bouquet

In September I created the wedding floral decorations for a sweet, young couple. The bride, Siè, was from Colombia and the groom Patrick, from Germany. Being an international couple with friends and family coming from all over the world, they decided to celebrate their union in romantic Italy. Siè and Patrick immediately fell in love with the location, a very dreamy estate near Lake Garda, set amongst vineyards and olives.

They went for total white for all the floral arrangements and chose a very simple decoration with clouds of baby’s breath for the symbolic ceremony. The white against the backdrop of silver green olive trees set the scene.

The party moved down to the garden for the aperitif and dinner at the back , which was held in a lovely courtyard with an enchanting pond and a small maze. They opted for a u-shaped wooden table set with transparent bud vases and various nuances of white flowers. From petite astrantia, to light goat’s beard, from delicate eustoma to romantic camomile. Flickering golden candles along the table with Italian string lights, created a dream like atmosphere.

For her bouquet Siè chose a delicate palette and a very romantic, natural-hand tied style.

As I always say, the bridal bouquet has to match the bridal gown and the bride perfectly. And so it was with Sie’s bridal bouquet.

The bride was passionate about Dahlias and I found some sumptuous Dahlia ‘Cafè au lait’,  as the perfect focal flower. I paired it with delicate peach anthirrum, romantic camomile, light blue-sky diduscus and elegant white scabious.  Each flower was carefully chosen in order to achieve that ‘hand tied’ look. Different shapes, textures, heights and movement were essential to this creation. With all that in mind I thoughtfully selected the flowers: focal, filler, slender flowers and stems with movement and structure.

For the bridesmaids I created delicate posy white bouquets, perfect with their flower pattern dresses.

Siè and Patrick saw to every single detail to make their intimate and romatic wedding special. They even printed a newspaper and a seating map, with a love note, for each guest and for all of us who helped them on their very special day!
